STUPID ADAM

Remember the time Adam outed me in front of Robin Ray and told her I was obsessed with Sister Wives.
STUPID ADAM.

Payback is painful! Just Remember that!!!

Random Thought...A Small Rant

Okay so I have a couple of random thoughts for the week.
#1 being...
I was sitting in sacrament on Sunday listening to the speakers speak, and I realized that we live in a country where people feel entitled. I think when this country was started our forefathers felt entitled. You know, they felt they had the right to free religion, freedom from oppression and the freedom to be anything you can be. Now this was good righteous entitlement.
Enter modern day America. We have this huge population that think they are entitled. They feel entitled to free food, free money and freedom from any religion. My dad was a Marine during the Vietnam War, and my husbands father served in the Korean War. They, like so many others have fought for our freedoms. It makes me sad that this beautiful county, the promised land, is wasted on so many. But... some gave all for their freedoms. I cannot change the whole county. However, if I could, I have some pet peeves.  Like everyone should have to show respect to the flag, like when they are singing the national anthem people should salute right? And, why do people scream and clap while the national anthem is being sung?? So annoying. Anyways, I digress. I am glad for the freedoms we have, and to be raised in this great nation.
(Just having an Ione Bailey moment).

#2.
I think two things in male fashion should be outlawed FOREVER.

Skinny Jeans
AND

Baggy Jeans that show your underwear.
Really no man or boy should ever wear jeans that make his waste and hips seem smaller than a woman's. NOT A GOOD LOOK. They should be outlawed, by the fashion police.  And really these baggy jeans KILL ME. I don't want to see your undies. REALLY I DON'T. They have to walk weird and bowlegged just to keep them up. REALLY!?!?

#3
How come everyone I saw today at Target looked like the are an ad for LA Ink?? ENOUGH TATTOOS ALREADY.
At least she does her hair. And note to self Tattooed fat is still FAT!
Just because you drew on it doesn't mean it looks good.

 #4...
Why do people think it is okay to crowd you in line at Target. It is NOT OK!

Last but not least GOOD NEWS...
My Little Baby Deasiya (Dirty D for short) Got her drivers license today. YEAH Congrats  Deasiya. And just like we did when Alexis, Ashlynn and Adam started driving I will try and post the dates and times she will be on the road. So you and your family can enter at your own risk. Really Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Diving Debacle

So Friday July 1st:
Xavier calls me from picking Adam up from Dive. He tells me Adam landed funny during dive and has possibly burst his eardrum. REALLY???
SOOOO off to the office they go. Eric FNP looks at the ear and says its really swollen, but not ruptured. Whew what a relief. Right? WRONG.
Apparently when your ear has trauma (Like all of Adam landing directly on it) it can rupture from the pressure later!!!!
So I am at the movies and Adam starts sending me picture messages of blood coming out of his ear. Truly he is so gross. So we get him all tucked in for the night. Only Adam could rupture his eardrum at home 8 hours after the trauma.

Day #2 :
The next morning no better. We are off to the office to see Romona. She tell us eardrum in fact ruptured. Gives us Rx off we go.

Day #3:
Really complaining of pain. Holding his head at a tilt, not really sleeping. Ear now draining green gunk. Call Romona who adds on pain meds and wants to see him Tuesday in the office.

Day #4:
Fourth of July. Now intense pain. Draining stuff and new symptom. FEVER. High Fever 102. This is with Tylenol, Motrin, Tylenol, Motrin. Why the fever. Xavier and President Ray give him a blessing. He does not really participate in any 4th of July excitement. Sleeps all day. Now I am starting to worry.

Day #5:
I  leave for work. I leave a normal looking young man. Not bad looking if I don't day so myself. This is what I see when I leave for work.
Adam goes into see Romona they add another antibiotic, more pain meds.... Still running a fever.
I come home 8 hours later. Adam is back in bed, as he has been for most of the day. Still running a fever now up to 102.8, I am FREAKING out. So I decide he needs to come out of his room and drink fluids. He hasn't been drinking I decide this will help with fever.
So I wake him up and he comes into the kitchen. It is then that I see what has happened to my wonderful son. His face and ear and head are actually SWOLLEN!!!!
Not just a little swollen. So swollen that his ear is sticking out of his head at a wierd angle and his face and the back of his head are swollen... here let me show you what he looked like.....

WHAT!!!!!!
Am I the only one that see's he is abnormally swollen??
We call in the calvalry and on

Day #6:
Off to see Pam in the Morning, shot of Antibiotics, and immediately over to the ENT. Who proceeds to tell Adam the canal is swollen shut nothing can drain out anymore and proceeds to drain as much out of his ear as he can.
(Inner ear infection secondary to traumatic dive landing!!)
 NICE!!
He leaves a wick in his ear and will see him again on Friday Morning.
The conclusion to this story .. at least so far is...

My Baby is back. I came home today and good looks have returned...

I will keep everyone posted on the ear situation.
If I can just get Adam to stop yelling "Hey youuuuu guuuuyyssss!!" I will consider him back to 100%.
Seriously Keep him in your prayers. Boys camp is Monday I have not given up all hope.
Well girls that's what you are missing back at the ranch!
Love Mom

A Brand New Day

The girls have been on me to start a family blog. I think if nothing else this will serve as a family journal. One I hope you enjoy. How the times have changed recently. Xavier is done with school and in the work force as a Speech Pathologist. Renee has a new job working for GEMCare Medical Group. The boys are dreaming of ways to divide the bedrooms amongst themselves. But before I get ahead of myself let me introduce you to The Kids....

Alexis "The General"
This one can organize anything, anytime, anyplace. She is a force of Nature. She doesn't really understand NO. She rarely, if ever backs down, and she has never met a stranger. ALEXIS.. you wanted a family blog to know what we are doing here. I hope this blog lives up to all your expectations.
Adam "The Superstar"
Never afraid of anything (except cleaning his room), he can take on any task and be good at it. Diving, singing, guitar playing and oh yeah..Planking! I just really hope the Eagle is somewhere is his near future!!
Emma "The Worrier"
Oh little Em... She is definitely the conscience of the group. She is also strong willed and determined to do her thing. Emma is a great student and a wonderful friend. Poor Emma, she's been tasked with Alexis. Need I say more?
Aaron "The Lionheart"
Aaron is funny, sensitive, and truly sees things one of two ways, right or wrong. He doesn't care who you are, he is all about chastising for word of wisdom, tattoo's, smoking. You name it. This also makes discipline nice, because he can admit when he is wrong. He is the champion for the weak, and can always take up the cause of injustice. He is old enough to make life really interesting and still young enough to see the good in all things. He as the greatest laugh and smile of anyone I know.
Ashlynn "The Princess"
Asher has never really understood she is not really royalty. She is nice, but not easily swayed. Loves to give affection, but needs her own space. Loves to enlist your help with tasks and then supervise. What can I say..... Princess. She is also fiercely loyal, very protective and wants to help all. She is a friend to all.
Deasiya "The Bravehearted"
Only Deasiya could move to B-town, a brand new member, acquire MORE family then she already had, finish her senior year, and run off to BYU!! She is fearless. We love Dirty D. She
fancies herself quite the cook these days. her roommates will love all her new cooking tricks!!

Well as you can see they are all different, not quite the Brady Bunch (except for that part about the lovely lady), but we will keep them. They are all over these days. The oldest two, Alexis and Emma are both at BYU-Idaho. Deasiya (at home for summer break) is usually found at BYU-Provo (the real BYU if you ask Thad and Brittany). Ashlynn has just left home to nanny for Corinne and Brendan. She will join the older girls in Idaho in January. The new Villanueva household is changing. We will have occasional input and short stays from girls. But I think it is time Xavier and I faced the fact that is Us and two Boys. Not a bad thing really. Just different. Alexis reminded me today we raised our children to have great adventures. I hope they know the greatest adventure of our lives have been raising our kids. With Adam and Aaron still around somehow I think our adventures are far from over.

No one said it would be easy... or perfect they only said it would be worth it ... and oh has it  been.

Well sit back and wait, hopefully you'll enjoy How the V's View It!
